Am I the First One or You?

Haj Ismail Dolabi (ra) said: "After travelling alot, Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and his companions reached their destination. The Prophet (pbuh) fetched some water to wash the feet of his companions.

They said: "O Roohullah, what are we good for if you are going to wash our feet? You should have a seat so that we can wash your feet."

The Prophet (pbuh) replied: "Washing the feet of your friends, is this thing good or bad?"

They replied: "It's a good thing."

He said: "Who is the first one to do good things, you or me?"

They replied: "You are the first one."

He said: "Then be seated so that I can wash your feet."

Haj Ismail Dolabi (ra) further said: "When you have acquired knowledge, don't distance yourself from the ignorants. When you have acquired wealth, don't distance yourself from the poor."
