A zakir narrated that he was present in the service of Ayatollah Syed Muhammad Hadi Milani (rh) when a family from Germany—a husband, wife, and their daughter—came to him. After exchanging greetings, the father said, "We have come to accept Islam."
Ayatollah Milani (rh) asked, "What is the reason?" The man explained, "This is my daughter sitting in front of you. Her ribs were broken in an accident. The doctors were hopeless about her treatment and suggested an operation that could prove dangerous. My daughter refused and said that it is better for her to die in her bed than on the operating table. We brought her home after that."
He continued, "We have an Iranian female caretaker whom we call Bibi. To her, my daughter said, 'I am willing to give all my wealth to get well, but I think I will die in this condition.' Bibi replied, 'I know a doctor who can cure you.' She said, 'I am ready to give all my wealth to that doctor.' Bibi responded, 'Keep your wealth. Know that I am a descendant of the Holy Prophet (sawa), and my grandmother is Lady Fatima (sa), whose ribs were broken due to the oppression meted out to her. You too, with a broken heart and flowing tears, should say: "Oh Fatima Zahra, heal me!"'
My daughter began to cry with a broken heart. In a corner of the house, Bibi also began asking for help from Hazrat Zahra (sa) while crying, saying, 'O Fatima Zahra (sa), I have brought this German patient to you. I want you to help me and keep my respect.' (The man added,) While witnessing this scene, a strange condition came upon me, and I too began calling out, 'O Fatima, whose ribs were broken!'
After some time, I noticed my daughter had become quiet and suddenly called me. She said, 'Father, come, my pain is over!'
I went to her and found that she was fully healed. She narrated, 'I was in an ocean (in a state of dream). A noble lady came to me and placed her hand on my broken side. I asked, "Who are you?" She replied, "I am the one whom you were calling."'
Then my daughter woke up and was completely healed. We realized that Islam is the truth, and now we have come to your service to become Muslims." With this miracle, the late Milani (rh) and the attendees were joyful. They taught them the kalimah and shared Islamic teachings, and the family left with the light of Islam.
